Bahamas Independence Day is celebrated on 10 July. If 10 July falls on either a Saturday or a Sunday, the following Monday will be a public holiday.

Emancipation Day holiday, on the first Monday in August, celebrates the emancipation of slaves in the British colonies in 1834. It is celebrated with a Junkanoo Rush-out, a day of beaching, sailing, and regattas in most islands.

National Heroes Day is a public holiday in the Bahamas and is celebrated annually on the second Monday in October. This holiday honours Bahamian national heroes.
